Projects

Quality work from dedicated professionals.

Townhome Housing Complex, Prairie View, Texas (On-Going)

The project consists of a 9-acre Fourplex/Townhome residential development located in the City of Prairie View, Waller County, Texas. Site drainage outfalls into Ponds Creek. The scope of work included site-specific runoff calculations, detention design for stormwater mitigation, grading design, and hydrologic and hydraulic (H&H) analysis, including conveyance evaluation. The analysis demonstrated that the proposed improvements would not adversely impact overland flow patterns, the receiving outfall channel, or adjacent properties. Services also included support through the permitting process with the governing agencies.

Crosby Excavation, Harris County, Texas

This project is located at 1701 Highway 90 in Crosby, Texas, within Harris County Precinct 3 and the San Jacinto River watershed. The 344.5-acre tract, currently open agricultural land, includes a planned 10-acre excavation area situated within the regulatory floodplain and floodway. Drainage from the site discharges into HCFCD Unit G103-00-00 (San Jacinto River).

AARP Consultants prepared a detailed Hydrologic and Hydraulic (H&H) analysis using HEC-RAS and ArcGIS to demonstrate that the proposed excavation would not cause adverse impacts to the floodway or result in a rise in water surface elevations (WSELs). The scope of services included hydraulic modeling, conveyance analysis, grading design, SWPPP preparation, using Civil 3D and support with permitting from Harris County Flood Control District and Harris County Engineering Department.

Multi office and Warehouse Development, Temple, Texas

The Temple Park Site, located at 3402 Airport Road in Temple, Texas, encompasses 3.64 acres of open space and private access road frontage. The proposed development includes an office/warehouse, retail building, convenience store with fuel station, and 1.7 acres of parking, converting approximately 77% of the site into impervious area.

AARP Consultants completed a detailed drainage and hydraulic study to evaluate potential stormwater impacts to Pepper Creek Tributary 1, the receiving outfall channel. Services included drainage and grading design, hydraulic and impact analysis, detention design, and stormwater modeling, utilizing HEC-RAS 1D/2D, Autodesk Civil 3D, and ArcView GIS.

FM 1485 Sand Pit Permitting, New Caney, Texas

The project is a 30-acre excavation project located at 24288 FM 1485, New Caney, Texas, within Montgomery County and situated in both the 100-year floodplain and regulatory floodway of the San Jacinto River watershed, which drains into Caney Creek.

AARP Consultants performed a conveyance analysis in accordance with the Montgomery County Floodplain Ordinance to demonstrate that these activities would not adversely impact the outfall channel or surrounding areas.

The analysis included 2D hydraulic modeling using HEC-RAS, terrain modeling of the dredged area, flow tracing for 10- and 100-year storm events, and evaluation of maximum water surface elevations at FEMA cross sections. Results confirmed that the proposed dredging does not increase WSELs relative to existing conditions, supporting compliance with floodplain requirements.

Services provided included conveyance analysis, grading design, No-Rise certification, and floodplain permitting support, utilizing HEC-RAS 1D/2D, Autodesk Civil 3D, and ArcView GIS.

Clark Henry Park Improvements, Jersey Village, Texas

Clark W. Henry Park is located at 7804 Equador Street in Jersey Village, Texas, within the White Oak Bayou watershed. The park is bounded by Equador Street to the west, West Gulf Bank Road to the south, White Oak Bayou (HCFCD Unit E100-00-00) to the north, and HCFCD Unit E134-00-00 to the east, with the Jersey Village Hike and Bike Trail running adjacent to the bayou and tributary.

The existing park features open green space with a pool, picnic area, restroom, and parking. Planned improvements include the addition of a new baseball field, soccer field, and sidewalk network to enhance recreational use for the community and nearby schools.

AARP Consultants performed a Hydrologic and Hydraulic (H&H) analysis, conveyance evaluation, and grading and drainage design to ensure the proposed improvements would not create adverse impacts to the surrounding floodplain, bayou, or adjacent properties.

Gladstell Commercial Development, Conroe, Texas (On-Going)

This project involves in a 1.5-acre commercial project located in Conroe, Texas. AARP Consultants provided comprehensive civil engineering services for drainage, grading, floodplain mitigation, utilities, driveway design, and SWPPP preparation.

The project utilizes advanced engineering and modeling tools, including HEC-RAS 1D/2D, Autodesk Civil 3D, and ArcView GIS, to ensure effective stormwater management, compliance with local floodplain regulations, and seamless integration of site infrastructure.

KingsPoint Clinic Development, City of Houston, Texas

The Kingspoint Birth Clinic is a 1-acre healthcare development located at 9615 Kingspoint Drive in Houston, within the Clear Creek watershed. Site drainage discharges into Beamer Ditch (HCFCD Unit No. A120-00-00).

The project transformed a previously undeveloped green space into a new birth clinic facility featuring an office building, driveway access, walkways, and surface parking. AARP Consultants provided a full range of civil engineering services, including preparation of grading, drainage, utilities, detention, and SWPPP plans, along with a detailed Hydrologic and Hydraulic (H&H) analysis and conveyance evaluation. Our team also supported the client throughout the permitting process, ensuring compliance with local requirements and a clear path to approval from City of Houston permitting.
